Laguna Seca yields no points for the Triple M Honda World Superbike Team

First year WorldSBK runners the Triple M Honda World Superbike Team arrived at the home round of their American rookie rider PJ Jacobsen full of anticipation of good race results with their CBR1000RR, however bad luck in each 25-lap race meant no points were added to their championship tally.

After qualifying 19th in Superpole 2 Jacobsen lined up for race one ready to break into the points scoring positions. After a contact from another rider in the tight left hander of turn two, however, he fell and was unable to continue. He had been sitting in a points scoring position for a time but was 17th when he was accidentally knocked off.

After some set-up changes for race two, Jacobsen felt confident that he could make good progress, and he got up to 12th place before dropping back. He finally fell at the famous Corkscrew corner and his bike was too badly damaged to continue.

Jacobsen is now 19th in the championship rankings, after eight of the scheduled 13 championship rounds.
