Thomas Covington takes top three place in Grand Prix MX2 in Indonesia

Thomas Covington of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing has achieved a top three place in the thirteenth race for the MX2 World Championship in Semarang, Indonesia. After Covington crashed in the first round in the first lap, he fought to third place in the second heat and finished fifth in the day's result.

The second consecutive game in Indonesia was held at the Semarang circuit. The circuit had a hard, slippery surface which meant that there was a lot of concentration in both motos. After Covington had qualified fifth on Saturday, he went on Sunday for his fourth consecutive podium.

In the first moto he crashed during the first lap but the American took the chase and managed to get a seventh place out of it. In the second moto he took a strong third place and remains in sixth place in the standings.

Thomas Kjer Olsen had varying degrees of success in this Grand Prix. Olsen was in the first moto involved in the same crash as Covington but came back to eleventh place. In the second moto he managed to take a strong fourth place and thus took seventh place in the day ranking. With these results he remains in third place in the World Championship standings.

For Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing the next Grand Prix will be on the program in Loket, Czech Republic in two weeks time.
