Spanish MX2 Grand Prix at Talavera de la Reina

Max Anstie guided his Rockstar Energy Factory Racing Husqvarna
to tenth place at the ninth round of the motocross world
championships at Talavera de la Reina in Spain. In the first race
the Briton had to battle his way forward after an early crash and
finished in eight position. In the second moto he could not really
find his rhythm, which kept him down to 12th place.

The track was beautifully prepared when the riders rolled out for
the qualifying session on Saturday. It is a hard-pack track with great
elevation changes and some big jumps. Max posted the fourth
fastest qualifying time and looked forward to his qualifying race.
A downpour just before the qualifying race turned the track into a
treacherous affair. Max started well and launched into proceedings
in ninth place. A mistake cost him four positions. He managed to
regain two of the lost spots, finally crossing the line in 11th.

Max hauled a top 10 overall position out of the coals for the day and this keeps him steady in seventh position on the world championship ladder.

Conrad had an even more eventful first heat.
He also had to find his way forward from the dark depths of the
field, and on this occasion, 31st position was as good as he
could manage. In the second heat, he had an altogether better
time of it, and for the first half of the race he was a points
A mistake cost him dearly, though, and he finished in 26th spot.

Yentel Martens brought some silverware to the team camp with third overall in the EMX300 European championship class.
Despite a rib injury that he suffered two weeks ago, Yentl soldiered on and bit through the pain to finish third and second
in the two heats respectively, which gave him third overall. More importantly, it was good enough to keep him in the lead
of the championship, where he enjoys a four point advantage over the second placed man.
