A busy weekend with a positive result for the
Superstock 1000 riders
After pre-season testing at Jerez and Almeria travel was accepted
to the location of Motorland Aragon located in northern Spain.
A beautiful circuit for the first European races, but also an area
where Mother Nature often leaves its marks in uncertain weather
conditions
We met also this weekend all facets from rain to sunshine and hail
to storm, with at Sunday a strong desert like wind. Considering the
sportive side, it was an eventful weekend. Glenn Scott returned from
a serious leg injury, suffered last year at Aragon. Highly motivated
he was happy to put on his suit again after a 12-month race break.
Step by step Glenn built up his weekend and even though the 22th place in the race is not a result where as a driver you are
satisfied, Glenn was important to ride the race and improved. This was successful and gives him a lot of confidence for the
next race. Toni Finsterbusch had a constructive weekend. Qualification
was not satisfactory yet, however he showed his excellent
quality, from the 26th start position he battled his way
forward and ended on a neat 18th position. This offers
great potential for the upcoming races.
Wayne Tessels experienced a positive weekend, as a 19th
start position he also battled himself forwardly. Some
adjustments before the warm-up session worked out well
and Wayne had confidence in the engine. He settled an
exciting battle with Luca Marconi and Suchet in his favor,
11th place on the fast Kawasaki ZX10RR gives us
confidence for the next home race at Assen.
Difficult weekend Avalon Biddle in World
Supersport 300
World Supersport 300 class was for our New
Zealand speed lady Avalon Biddle and a new
class for the team. The practice and qualifying
sessions were difficult, the weather, a crash
and the technique played tricks.
Result was unfortunately not as expected still
some work to be done on the Kawasaki Ninja
300 to deliver a great bike for Avalon in the
next race. Before the next race, more testing
is planned to give the highly motivated Avalon
a good feeling for the next race at the
TT Assen Circuit.
