Hartog yields three World Championship points in Misano

Rob Hartog finished in Misano after a great overtaking race as thirteenth. The driver from Abbekerk had to start from place twenty-three after a moderate qualifying. In addition, Hartog did good business in the European Championship, in which he achieved his fourth victory and ended up in the standings.

Rob Hartog was not satisfied with his Superpole at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. During the free practice sessions there was a constructive line, but during qualifying the driver from Abbekerk did not succeed in squeezing out one fast lap. Hartog had a hard job to do in the race from his twenty-third starting position. At the start, Hartog was able to win four places and in the opening phase he managed to work up to a group of riders who fought for fifteenth place.

Hartog managed to pass them one by one and after six laps he already drove the points. Then the Kawasaki driver had to see a gap of two seconds out of five competing riders ahead of him. With two falls, Hartog moved up to thirteenth place in his hunt. Hartog could ride the same pace as the group before him and even faster during the race, but he did not manage to find the connection. After nineteen laps, Hartog crossed the finish line as thirteenth, making him the winner in the FIM Europe Supersport Cup. The Dutchman now has a lead of sixteen points on the number two Eemeli Lathi in the European Championship standings.

For the World Supersport championship a long summer break of two months is now ahead. In mid-September, Hartog will drive a World Cup match at Portimão in Portugal. A week before, September 7 through 9, Team Hartog - Against Cancer will ride with a guest appearance in the German IDM Championship at the TT Circuit Assen.
